Working @ ams is fun because…

Shota

It is fun to work at ams, because...

...it is a growing company with a lot of new opportunities, where many people from around the world work in union. And the environment of the office, in the premises of an old Austrian castle, is also great with the surrounding woods and ponds.

My name:

Shota

My current ams location:

Premstaetten - headquarters, Austria

My tasks/job at ams:

I am a trainee at the Marketing Communications department. I had projects of competition benchmarking, and translation of marketing material.

I am originally from:

Tokyo, Japan

How it happened that I am working at ams:

The University of Tokyo and Mr. Kuwahara of ams Japan initiated a one year program for students to come to Premstaetten to work. It was the first year of this program, and I decided to come for the working experience and the overall experience of living in Graz.

What I especially like about my job:

I enjoy working with great teammates, and trying to find and create a solution for a difficult problem the company is facing.

The greatest fun at work was when I...

...had a project to interview salesmen from all over the world, to collect information about what kind of touchpoints there existed between ams and customers. It was a great opportunity to find out about the differences of the markets and sales practice between each country, which truly led me to believe ams was a global company.

What I especially like about Graz, Europe:

Graz is small but cozy. With a lot of students and young people, it has a lot of vibe and is an ideal place to hang around with friends.
Alike many other European cities, traveling is easy by flights and long distance trains, which makes the experience even better.

If you ever travel to my country, one thing you should not miss doing is...

...going around Asakusa, the old part of the city. It preserves the old buildings and you can enjoy the feeling of old but vibrant Tokyo, passed down for 200 years.
